Information for members affected by the voltage issue on August 16, 2024

  • In Aspen, Snowmass, & Basalt

On the morning of August 16, 2024, parts of our electrical distribution grid in Aspen, Snowmass, and Basalt were inadvertently fed “low-voltage” power for a short time from Xcel Energy transmission lines. 

An event like this can cause damage to electrical equipment that is not properly protected from temporary over- or under-voltage.

While this instance was beyond the control of Holy Cross Energy, we are here to help make things right through the proper channels for our members who experienced damage as a result of this event.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to work closely with Xcel Energy on behalf our members to find a solution to this situation.

Damage Report Claim - Submit by April 30, 2025

If your home or business experienced damage as a result of this event, please fill out the following form with as many details as possible. A member of our team will follow up with more information and next steps. 

We will compile all claims and work with Xcel Energy to compensate our members for damages.

Claims must be submitted no later than April 30, 2025.
