Celebrating 85 years of your cooperative!

On November 29, 1939, an independent group of farmers and ranchers in the Roaring Fork and Eagle River Valleys banded together to form the Holy Cross Electric Association and bring electric service to our rural areas for the first time.

Now, 85 years later, we’re proud to continue the mission of providing safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy and services that improve the quality of life for our members and communities.

Member Equity is your slice of the co-op pie.

Were you a member way back in 2007 & 2008? Check your November or December bill for a Member Equity refund.

Because electric cooperatives operate at cost, any excess revenues are allocated to members in the form of Member Equity. Some of each year’s Member Equity is paid back to current members the following year. The rest is put into a reserve, used to maintain and improve our system, and is eventually paid back to those same members within 25 years.

With this Member Equity refund, Holy Cross Energy has returned nearly $178.5 million to our members since 1963.

Give where you live on Colorado Gives Day.

Each year, we proudly support dozens of local nonprofit organizations through our community-giving initiatives.

This Colorado Gives Day (next Tuesday, December 10), we invite you to give where you live and directly support one of the essential organizations that keep our community thriving.

Congrats to our holiday card contest winners!

And thanks to all the students and schools that participated this year. We are in awe of the talented young artists in our service territory!

From everyone at Holy Cross Energy, we wish you the happiest of holiday seasons.

The 2024 rebate deadline is approaching.

Our energy efficiency and electrification rebates change yearly to adapt to the changing energy needs of our members and community.

To qualify for our 2024 rebate amounts, members must submit their application and invoices no later than December 31. All applications received on January 1 or later will apply toward our 2025 rebate program.

The future is electric.

As we kick off our next 85 years, we look forward to continuing to provide safe, reliable, affordable, and increasingly sustainable energy and services that improve the quality of life for our members and communities.

Read more from President & CEO Bryan Hannegan about our Power Supply Road Map and how we plan to successfully meet our members’ future electrification needs.
